PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This 6-month intensive documentary filmmaking course at SRTV Film Academy is designed for aspiring filmmakers, journalists, and storytellers who want to master traditional, investigative, VR/360°, and experimental documentary filmmaking. Students will develop technical expertise, ethical awareness, and industry-ready skills while producing multiple short films.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To ensure candidates are well-prepared for this intensive program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
 EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Film, Journalism, or related fields preferred but not mandatory)
OR proven experience in media production (portfolio submission required).
TECHNICAL SKILLS (Recommended but Not Mandatory)
Basic familiarity with camera operation, video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve), or sound recording.
Applicants without prior experience may be required to complete a 1-week foundational bootcamp (offered by SRTV before the program starts).
SUBMISSION MATERIALS
Statement of Purpose (500 words): Explain why you want to study documentary filmmaking and your career goals.
Portfolio (if available):
Short films, photography, or written journalism samples.
OR a 3-minute video pitch for a documentary idea.
Interview (for shortlisted candidates): A 15-20 minute discussion with faculty to assess passion and commitment.
 LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
For non-native speakers, a TOEFL/IELTS score or a short interview may be requested.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students must have access to:
 
1. A DSLR/mirrorless camera or smartphone with manual video controls.
2. A laptop capable of running editing software (minimum 8GB RAM).
SRTV provides VR cameras, professional mics, and editing labs for in-class use.
