Storytelling Through Editing

Entry Requirements
To apply for the HND Editing Programme, you’ll need:
Academic Qualificatons
• Minimum: 1 A-Level (Grade C or above) or Level 3 Diploma in Film/Media.
• Alternative: Relevant experience (e.g., personal editing projects) + interview
Submit one of the following:
• A 2-3 minute edited sequence (any genre)
• A before/after comparison of an edited scene.
• A written analysis (500 words) of an iconic film edit.
• Discuss a editor or film that inspires you.
• Demonstrate basic editing knowledge.
English Language
• IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent) if non-native English speaker
• No formal qualifications? Mature students (21+) may apply with with demonstrable passion for editing.

Year 1: Core Skills
• Editing fundamentals and software mastery.
• Story structure and pacing.
Year 2: Advanced Techniques
• Genre specialisation (drama, documentary, etc.).
• Collaborative projects with directing students.
Year 3: Professional Preparation
• Edit a graduation film with industry mentorship.
• Business skills: Freelancing, rates, and networking.
