Program Overview
Our BA in Film Producing equips you with the strategic, creative, and logistical skills to bring stories to life. Under the guidance of active industry producers, you’ll master the end-to-end process of film and television production—from securing financing to managing post-production.
This hands-on programme blends business acumen with creative problem-solving, preparing you to lead productions, manage budgets, and navigate the fast-paced entertainment industry.

Key Learning Outcomes
Development & Financing
• Script analysis, packaging projects, and pitching to investors.
• Crowdfunding, grants, and co-production strategies.
Pre-Production Mastery
• Budgeting (using Movie Magic Budgeting) and scheduling (ShotGrid).
• Location scouting, casting, and crew hiring.
Post-Production & Distribution
• Overseeing editing, sound, and VFX pipelines.
• Film festival strategies and sales agent negotiations.
Real-World Experience
• Produce three short films (fiction, documentary, commercial).
• Pitch projects to industry panels (e.g., BFI, BBC).
Production Leadership
• On-set problem-solving and team management.
• Compliance, contracts, and union regulations.
Entry Requirements
To apply for the BA Producing Programme, you’ll need:
Academic Qualificatons
• Minimum: 1 A-Level (Grade C or above) or Level 3 Diploma in Film/Business/Media.
• Alternative: 2+ years of relevant experience (e.g., runner, assistant producer)
Submit one of the following:
• A production binder (budget, schedule, call sheets) for a past project.
• A pitch deck for an original film idea.
• A 1-page essay on a film’s production challenges (e.g., The Lord of the Rings)
• Discuss a producer or film that inspires you.
• Demonstrate organisational and leadership potential.
English Language
• IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) if non-native English speaker
• No formal qualifications? Mature students (25+) may apply with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Course Structure
Year 1: Fundamentals
• Introduction to producing, legal basics, and micro-budget filmmaking.
Year 2: Advanced Strategies
• Co-productions, tax incentives, and international financing.
• Line produce a 15-minute film.
Year 3: Industry Launchpad
• Graduate with a feature-ready package (budget, schedule, lookbook).
• Modules on entrepreneurship and global markets.
