Our HND in Cinematography is a rigorous, hands-on programme designed to transform you into a skilled Director of Photography (DOP). Under the guidance of award-winning cinematographers, you'll master both the technical and artistic aspects of visual storytelling.
From lighting setups to camera movement, you'll learn to create mood, depth, and narrative impact – preparing you for work in film, television, commercials, and digital content.

To apply for the HND Directing Programming, you'll need:
Academic Qualificatons
• Minimum: 1 A-Level (Grade C or above) or Level 3 Diploma in Film/Media/Photography.
• Alternative: Relevant experience (e.g., photography, indie films) + interview
Portfolio Submission
Submit one of the following:
• A 2-3 minute film/video showcasing your cinematography.
• A series of 10-15 photographs demonstrating visual storytelling.
• A lighting/camera test with explanation of your choices.
Interview
Submit one of the following:
• Discuss a cinematographer or film that inspires you.
• Demonstrate your understanding of visual storytelling.
English Language
• IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent) if non-native English speaker
